Why Did God Create the World?

This question was tossed around a bit by my family today.  I have heard people say that He was lonely or that He needed us to do His work for Him.  From my Bible College education and personal exploration, I think I have an answer.  God definitely wasn’t lonely. The Triune Godhead was together for eternity before the world was even created. They were doing just fine, fully satisfied in themselves.  God created the world because He is LOVE.  The most loving thing that He could do was to create us to experience that love.  He doesn’t need us to do His work for Him, but chooses for us to do so, because it is the most loving thing He can do.  That’s just my quick thoughts on the subject.  Please forgive my absence of scripture.  What do you think?
